Achievements

DOCTORS VISITS

We are pleased to report that our partnership with Dundee Hospital has remained strong and impactful throughout the year. The ongoing support from the hospital, particularly from the medical doctors and physiotherapists, has significantly contributed to the quality of care provided to our patients at Duduza Hospice. Regular rounds conducted by these healthcare professionals have ensured that our patients receive continued medical oversight and rehabilitative support within the hospice setting. We deeply value this collaboration and extend our sincere gratitude for their dedication and commitment to holistic patient care.

Student Practical Training Partnership with RAI Academy

During the year under review, Duduza Care Centre Hospice had the pleasure of hosting a group of students from RAI Academy who completed their practical training within our facility. This collaboration provided the students with valuable hands-on experience in palliative care, while also contributing meaningfully to the day-to-day support of our patients. We are proud to have established this partnership and remain committed to supporting the development of future healthcare professionals. We look forward to strengthening this relationship in the years to come.

EVENTS

67 MINUTES OF Mandela day

In honour of Mandela Day, Duduza Hospice organized a special day of care and compassion for our patients. The day began with a thoughtfully prepared, nutritious meal served to all patients, symbolizing the love and dignity they deserve. As part of the 67 minutes of service inspired by Nelson Mandela’s legacy, we were privileged to welcome a team of medical professionals from Dundee Hospital who provided care and check-ups to our patients. Their presence and dedication made the day truly meaningful, reflecting the spirit of Ubuntu and reinforcing our commitment to quality, person-centered care

Human Rights Day

This year, Duduza Hospice proudly commemorated Human Rights Day in the presence of our patients and their families, creating a moment of reflection, unity, and shared dignity. The event highlighted the importance of respecting and upholding the rights of all individuals, particularly those receiving palliative care. We were deeply honoured by the active participation of Wasbank Clinic and Sakhimpilo Clinic, whose presence and contributions enriched the day’s proceedings. Their involvement is a testament to the spirit of collaboration and community that continues to support our work and uplift our patients.

Hospice Christmas Party

Through our sponsors, we were able to create and deliver christmas gifts for our patients. The contributions made it possible for us to offer gifts and also bring a sense of joy and warmth to our patients in this festive season.
